After the French had occupied Saigon, they built a Cathedral in order to be officiated place and flaunt their position with Vietnamese people.

The Cathedral is lighted by the sunshine in the day with glass window system and air holes.
The two bell towers was built in 1895, it had 57m of height. In 1920, each of them was added a cross which makes the total height of tower was 60,5m.
There is a park ahead of the Cathedral. In front of the park is Our Lady of Peace statue which was carved in Italia and moved to Saigon by waterway. The statue is 4,6m of height, 5,8ton of weight.
This is a valuable construction not only in history but also in architectural art. Although it is more than 100 years old but the Cathedral is live witness for a historic period of Vietnam.
