Huế citadel complex is located on the bank of Perfume (Hương) river. Huế was the capital of Vietnam under Nguyễn dynasty in 1805- 1945.
The area of the work is 520 ha. In 1993, the Huế citadel relic was certificated as the world heritage by UNESCO.

The flag tower was built in VI Gia Long (1807). Minh Mạng king allowed to be repaired in 1829, 1831 and 1840. The flag pole remark important events and the change of governments in Huế.
The citadel was investigated in 1803 by Gia Long King, then built in 1805 and finished in 1832 under Minh Mạng dynasty. The first attraction is Ngọ Môn Gate, one of the most outstanding architectures in the period.
